Annually, the City of Olympia invites local and regional artists to loan a sculpture or piece of art that sits on a platform (also called a plinth).

Budd Bay cafe logoThe community is then invited to vote on their favorite piece of art, helping the City of Olympia decide which of the 15 new sculptures along Percival Landing to purchase as the 2016 Peoples’ Choice Award recipient. The voting period lasts through August 1, 2016 and ballots are available along Percival Landing next to the sculptures.

Voters must personally visit all 15 sculptures, and completed ballots submitted in person at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St NW (conveniently located right next to Percival Landing), the Boater Moorage kiosk or mailed in.

Once the People’s Prize Competition has ended, the City of Olympia purchases the art for permanent installation.
