The Department of Enterprise Services has issued a permit for a Wednesday, June 29 event that organizers say could bring up to 5,000 attendees to the Capitol Campus.

Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, will bring his “Decision America Tour” to the area near the Tivoli Fountain for a noon to 1:00 p.m. rally. Set-up for the event will begin around 11:00 a.m.

The south diagonal – one of two short, one-way streets leading from Capitol Way to the Winged Victory Monument traffic circle – will be closed from about 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 to 1:30 p.m. on June 29 due to the event.

Enterprise Services’ Visitor Services Program has asked the event organizers to have attendees park in designated lots in downtown Olympia and ride the Dash shuttle to the campus. Even so, campus parking and traffic will likely be impacted.

There are several other permitted events scheduled that day on the west campus that will likely add to the congestion there. A complete list of upcoming permitted campus events is available on the Enterprise Services website.
