The Gateway Rotary Club in Lacey, Washington was recognized for their many achievements this last year at the Rotary District 5020 Annual Conference in Olympia, Washington on June 25, 2016. There are currently ninety Rotary Clubs in District 5020. The Gateway Rotary Club was recognized with the following District 5020 awards:
• District 5020 Medium Size Club Growth Award – 1st Place
• District 5020 Rotary Club Central Membership Award
• District 5020 Membership Contribution Award
• District 5020 Literacy Award
The Gateway Rotary Club was also recognized with the 2015-2016 Rotary International Presidential Citation Award Gold Level. Only six clubs in the District received this award. Gateway Rotary also received the 2014-2015 Every Rotarian Every Year Award from the Rotary International Foundation.
“These awards represent a lot of participation by the members of Gateway Rotary”, noted Jerry Farmer, President of the Gateway Rotary Club. He added, “These are people who make significant professional and personal contributions to our community and we are proud to count them among our Rotary members.”
The Gateway Rotary Club with about 115 members has a history of serving the local community and collaborating on international projects that improve the lives of people here and in developing countries. As business leaders and professionals, the Gateway Rotary Club aims to exemplify the principles of Rotary. Gateway Rotary understands the meaning of service, both in our local community and in striving to support Rotary International in achieving such laudable goals as the eradication of polio. The Gateway Rotary Club is made up of exceptional individuals who, along with 1.2 million Rotarians in 33,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 160 countries, are changing the world with our work at home and around the globe, one act of service at a time.
