Olympia Resident Earns Scholarship from Western Washington University

Western Washington University student Autumn Moran Simmons, daughter of Robert Simmons of Port Townsend and Maribeth Wheeler of Olympia, received the $766 Herb and Beth Hearsey Scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Herb and Beth Hearsey Scholarship is awarded to students who work for Western Libraries and are full-time students at Western Washington University.

Simmons graduated from Capital High School in 2013 and is a junior at Western. She is studying Psychology with an Art Therapy concentration. She is involved with the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, Lydia Place, and Peer Health Educator: Body Empowerment. She plans to graduate in 2017.
