Everyone is invited to celebrate spring, literature and libraries by entering the Peeps® Diorama Contest at the Olympia Timberland Library.
A diorama is a scene recreated in miniature and in three dimensions. The Literary Peeps Contest requires the scene be selected from a book, and the characters in the scene made out of marshmallow Peeps candy.
Crafting workshops with supplied materials will be held at the library from 1 to 5 p.m. on April 7, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 9.
Here are the dates and guidelines:
- Contest rules and entry forms will be available at the library’s information desks starting Friday, April 1
- Entries will be accepted April 14-21
- The public will vote on the winners; votes will be accepted April 22-29
- Winners will be announced on the Olympia Timberland Library Facebook page
- The dioramas will be on display until May 7
- Dioramas must be picked up from the library by May 1
