The public is invited to provide input online to help shape downtown Olympia’s future. The survey is part of a public process to form a Downtown Strategy that will outline what steps we take over the next 6 years to move our community’s vision and goals for downtown forward.

The survey is online at olympiawa.gov/DTS now through March 27. Input will be used to help shape a guiding framework for the strategy and inform our view shed study. The survey takes about 15-20 minutes to complete.

This marks the end of Stage 2 in a 5-stage process to form Olympia’s Downtown Strategy. We received over 2,700 responses to our previous online survey. There we heard too many ‘districts’ had been proposed, and that parking, homelessness and other issues related to street dependency are key concerns related to downtown that must be addressed. We also received great feedback about the desired character of unique areas throughout downtown that will help inform upcoming design standard updates. Read the full summary at olympiawa.gov/DTS.

Citizens from around the Thurston County region are encouraged to participate in the survey, including those who participated in a related workshop last February.
