On December 2 2014, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington will put Thurston County Sheriff John Snaza and his twin brother, Lewis County Sheriff Elect Rob Snaza behind bars in a cell at Capital Mall.  This is to build awareness around the importance of mentoring and to raise money to ensure more kids in our community have consistent role models.  The sheriffs are counting on the community to bail them out with hopes of raising at least $20,000.

Every month, Big Brothers Big Sisters of SW Washington supports over 900 youth, mentors and family members in 5 counties.  Benefits are seen in the juvenile justice system.  “Every day I see cases where a child without a trusted role-model wanders down a destructive path,” says Sheriff John Snaza.  The average cost to incarcerate a juvenile for a 9 – 12 month period is between $66,000 – $88,000.  “What a difference it would make if even one of these youth had a mentor,” continues Snaza.

During the BIG Bail Out, Sheriff’s John & Rob Snaza will be jailed in a cell at Capital Mall Food Court from 11 AM to 6 PM.  You can help post bail in person at the Mall, or online.
