Halloween is still a full week away but that isn’t stopping a host of Olympia area Halloween related festivities from filling our calendar this weekend. Luckily, most of them are inside as blustery fall weather is looking like it will continue. For the brave souls (and those of us who still don’t have pumpkins to carve with our kids) local pumpkin patches are open all weekend long. And for the even braver, haunted houses abound. For those seeking something non-candy corn related, a variety of options are throughout our calendar from live theater and craft brewing celebrations to razor clam digs and 5K runs.
- Show off your costume for the first time at the South Sound YMCA’s free Harvest Festival on Friday.
- Choose from three live theater plays showing all weekend, including the final performances of Harlequin Productions “Clybourne Park”.
- Dig Razor Clams on Washington Beaches all weekend long.
- Enjoy a Meconi’s Beast Mode Sub on Blue Friday. 12th Man specials, too, if you wear your Seahawk’s colors.
- Burn off some Halloween Candy at the Spooktakular Sprint 5K at Priest Point Park or the Pumpkin Dash in Tenino on Saturday morning.
- Find family fun at the Hands on Children’s Museum’s annual party, the Boo Bash.
- Trick or Treat the halls of Saint Martin’s University on Saturday.
- Hunt for wild mushrooms in local woods (just keep your “spot” a secret!).
- Raise a pint of Dick’s Beer to celebrate the craft brewery’s 20th Anniversary at their annual fundraising party on Saturday.
- Find fall produce at The Farmer’s Market, including a visit to the guys at Fresh Approach Produce.
- Scream in terror at local haunted houses. Skip the fright and do the corn maze instead.
- Pick a perfect pumpkin at local pumpkin patches.
- Enjoy some cider and a fritter at Lattin’s Country Cider Mill.
- See the migrating Salmon. Details on locations here.
- Visit an open house event this weekend. Click here to see the list of Van Dorm Realty’s open houses.
