The Thurston County Fair is honoring the men and women who proudly serve in the military with special Military Appreciation Day discounts on Friday, August 1.

Fairgoers who present their military ID at the fair gate can get $2 admission tickets to the fair on Friday, August 1. Davis Shows NW, the carnival ride provider for the fair, is also offering a special one-day discount for military families—show your military ID at the carnival ride ticket booth and get $5 off each carnival ride armband you purchase. The regular armband price is $24. Armbands purchased with the military discount are good for unlimited carnival rides only on Friday, August 1.

Military IDs for active duty, reserves, retired military personnel and dependents must be presented at the time of purchase to receive the discount admission tickets and the discount carnival ride armbands. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday.

Enter the Dessert of the Day contest on Friday, August 1 and get free admission to the fair! Come celebrate the quintessential snack-size treats at the Best Cookie Contest on Friday.
