Westport Winery Earns Medals in New York Wine Competition

Westport WineryWestport Winery earned three medals at the 2014 Finger Lakes International Wine competition held in Rochester, New York, in late March. There were 3,756 wines entered in this competition from 887 wineries, 20 countries, 6 Canadian Provinces, and all 50 United States.

Shelter From The Storm earned a silver medal. This is the winery’s port-style wine crafted from cranberries, blackberries, and blueberries. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Grays Harbor Hospital Foundation.

Both Ancient Mariner (a pear-Riesling blend) and Dawn Patrol (a raspberry-Riesling blend) earned bronze medals. These wines benefit Coastal Animal Rescue and Adoption (CARA) and the General James A. Doolittle VFW Post 3057 of Westport, respectively.

Westport Winery and Vineyards By-the-Sea with its unique sculpture garden, lavender labyrinth, musical fence, 9-hole executive golf course, giant chess set, outdoor scrabble game, and grape maze, is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. Westport Winery was named Best of the Northwest Wine Tour in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

Westport’s award-winning wines are exclusively available at the winery.
