I’m a Mom. I’m also a daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law, and sister-in-law. All these female roles make Mother’s Day a little bit complicated. Around the ThurstonTalk table yesterday, we discussed how Moms-in-the-middle (those of us who have children but also want to show appreciation to our own mothers) are a little confused on Mother’s Day. Do we sit back and let the guys do it all and risk forgetting some key component (like, for example, a gift for his mother)? Or do we jump in and instead of taking a day off create a lovely meal for all the Moms in our lives? It’s a conundrum for sure, but certainly not a bad position to be in – having people to love and honor on Mother’s Day is a gift.
