Westport Winery Earns Medals at San Diego International Wine Competition

message in a bottleWestport Winery earned three medals at the 31st annual San Diego International Wine Competition held in April. This is one of the largest competitions in the nation with over 1000 entries from 17 countries.

Westport’s unique blackberry vanilla wine called Message in a Bottle earned 90 points and a gold medal. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the West Coast Search Dogs of Washington.

Lighthouse White, featuring grapes from Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA, earned a silver medal. This wine benefits the Grays Harbor Lighthouse Restoration Fund and the Westport Maritime Museum. The label features an original watercolor by wine co-owner Blain Roberts’ surfing partner, Darryl Easter of Camarillo, California.

Red Sky at Night, a luscious blend of raspberries and chocolate, also earned a silver medal. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Westport Timberland Library. This wine’s label features an original photograph by Rachel Rose of Ocosta, Washington.

Westport Winery and Vineyards By-the-Sea with its unique sculpture garden, lavender labyrinth, musical fence, 9-hole executive golf course, giant chess set, outdoor scrabble game, and grape maze, is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport.

Westport’s award-winning wines are exclusively available at the winery.
