Bonnie and Fred Finn and Ross and Cathy Wiggins decided to build what is now Olympia’s newest and finest waterfront condominium. The building, located at 1107 West Bay Drive, is called “The Baywood”. One side has a view of Budd Bay and the other overlooks a protected, wooded ravine.

The Baywood offers seven units. Two are commercial and five residential.

Because of the great location the commercial units are already filled with small businesses including lawyers’ offices, a nonprofit foundation, massage therapist, esthetician, rolfer and a property manager. Three residential units are currently available.

Two and three bedrooms homes range in size from 1,650 to over 3,000 square feet. “I love that all the units face East so you see the amazing sunrise and Mt Rainier with morning sunshine without the hot afternoon sun”, commented a recent visitor.

All units are one level and feature energy efficient triple-paned windows and plenum construction. These features are great for insulation and virtually eliminate noise from the street and neighbors. The Baywood provides coded entry, security cameras and a secured elevator.

All residential units have covered balconies and oversized private garages.

We love having our weekends free to explore and travel rather than focused on yard and house maintenance,” commented Cathy Wiggins. Katy Crofts of Keller Williams Realty observed “There is nothing else in the area with the high quality of these amenities.”

The Finns and Wiggins were guided through the process by local Olympia developer Sandy Desner and architects Mort James and Janet Knoblach, designers Debra Byers and David Goularte and Steve Carras of Carras Cabinets.

“We wanted to keep everything local” said retired State Representative Fred Finn. “We picked Tumwater’s Big Rock Construction to do the building. This was our 4th project with them and we are very pleased. We feel most fortunate to call 1107 West Bay Drive our home.”

“I love watching Budd Bay activity, the mountain, the Capitol and the city lights. West Bay Park is a five minute walk and there are trails just down the street. We regularly bicycle around town, out for coffee and down to the harbor and Farmers’ Market. We can conveniently attend more events and both save time and conserve gas” said Ross Wiggins.

Open houses are being scheduled on May 18 and June 8. For more information on the Baywood check its website www.thebaywoodolympia.com or call 360-866-2000.
