This weekend marks the beginning of Spring Break for most area school, and with that, a flurry of activity for many families. Ours is headed out for some quality time at Nana and Papa’s house in Spokane for a few days where I can pretend I’m a kid again and defer all kid care and cooking responsibilities to my mom. Heaven. We know several friends heading to the airport for journeys to see family or to chase the warmth in a sunnier climate. Another contingent are sticking around, planning an Olympia staycation of sorts to celebrate the break from routine of lunches, homework and soccer practice. For those who may not have kids, this may just be another week as we march towards what we hope is a sunny spring on the horizon.
No matter your “spring break” situation, our events calendar is full to the brim with terrific things to do around Olympia. From the return of regular Farmer’s Market hours to theater performances to Egg Hunts, there’s something for everyone this weekend.
