Easter is just around the corner, and my kids aren’t letting me forget it.  Speculation as to whether it will be rainy or sunny, the eggs will be filled with candy or stickers (they prefer the former, I prefer the latter) and which local egg hunts our family will attend has already begun.  The wait is over, thankfully, as festivities begin this weekend with Bayview Thriftway’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, set to happen this Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 am.

Can’t make it this weekend?  Don’t despair.  Bayview’s sister store, Ralph’s Thriftway, holds their hunt the following weekend, April 12, for a second chance to find the “best” eggs.

Hop on down the local grocer with your littlest egg hunters in tow to join the fun.  Children ages 10 and under are welcome and the event is BYOB (bring your own basket).  Eggs will be hidden throughout the store, with a few sections of breakable items excluded.  Children will be divided into age groups, infant to three years old, four to six years old, and seven to ten years old, to help even the playing field a bit.

Carol Lundblad, Bayview Thriftway’s store manager shares, “It’s a great community event, just for the fun of it, and it’s great to see the store full of laughing kids.”  The store simply asks for parents to stick with youngsters and be aware of other “hunters” navigating the aisles.

Don’t forget to bring your own basket for the Thriftway Easter Egg Hunts.

Smiles will be on parent’s faces as well when they see the Flash Sales going on in each department at both stores.  Lundblad and Ralph’s store manager Dan Machado have challenged each department to choose one unique item to profile from their section and feature it on Saturday at a great sale price.  Those not hunting for eggs can hunt for these great bargains, taking something home beyond jellybeans and chocolate eggs.

Bayview will feature an all ages Cake Walk after the Egg Hunt is done.  Prizes will include treats from the excellent and newly renovated Bayview Bakery, but also product giveaways from throughout the store.  At Ralph’s they will invite hunter to an Easter Cupcake Walk after their baskets are full.  At both events, no one will walk away empty handed.

Have some creative artists in your house?  They are in luck.  Both stores are currently running an Easter Coloring Contest.  Coloring sheets can be picked up at either store and turned in on  the day of the Egg Hunt to Peare, the Thriftway store mascot.  Peare will be visiting both stores during their hunts to help kiddos, take photos and collect all the wonderful artwork.  Pictures will be displayed and winners selected during the Egg Hunt Event.

Start your celebration, and candy eating, early and visit Bayview and Ralph’s Thriftway Easter Egg Hunts to kick off the festivities.
