Thrifty Thurston Trick-or-Treats Around Olympia

alley oop gymnastics My kids have a mouthful of metal right now.  It’s a dentist’s dream.  No caramels or chewy candies will pass their lips.  I fear not only the cost of replacing spacers and braces pulled out by a cherry Starburst or a gooey Snickers but also the torment of gluing those devices back on.  This year, we’ll stick to the mundane – a handful of M&M’s or maybe a lollipop  – and all the rest of the (unapproved) candy will go in the trash.  (Oh, right… who am I fooling?  Just a *few* pieces will go into my stomach.)

Cheers to all the parents that are celebrating another year in costume.  Thank you to the neighbors for turning our kids into *real* monsters after handfuls of candy.  And, a big high five to the teachers who have to manage our sugar-laden kids on November 1.
