The YWCA of Olympia is pleased to announce that their current Executive Director, Tammy Stampfli will be continuing her education in the field of religious studies in order to become a chaplain.  She will be returning to school part-time in the fall and will remain at the YWCA of Olympia continuing to work in the area of finance and community giving.  The Board of Directors is excited to use this as an opportunity to re-structure a few key positions within the agency.

Hillary Soens, the YWCA’s Girls Advancement Director will step into the role of Interim Executive Director.  Hillary has been with the YWCA of Olympia since 2010, successfully building the Girls Without Limits! and Girls Circle programs. She has a Masters In Public Administration from the Evergreen State College and many years of experience in a variety of non-profit settings.

Cherie Reeves Sperr will expand her current role as Special Events Manager in September to serve as the new Director of Communications & Events.  She holds a Masters in Clinical Neuropsychology and has been employed in the non-profit sector since 1987, with specific focus on women’s health.

Bree Lafreniere will continue in her role as Women’s Resources Director and Jena Embry Loes will continue as House & Office Manager.

The staff and the Board of the YWCA of Olympia are excited about this tremendous opportunity to empower their staff to develop their full potential, furthering the agency mission to eliminate racism and empower women, girls and families through education, advocacy, service, and leadership opportunities.
