Capital’s Freshman Ty Gentry had a great State Championship Tennis Tournament making it to the finals of the 2A State Tennis tournament. Ty fought hard against Sehome upperclassman, Avery West and fell short in a battle of power in the finals.
League Champion, District Champion, and 2A State Finalist all as a freshman. Ty is already looking forward to next season and a hopeful rematch with West in the finals.
On another note, Capital doubles team of Mathias Burlingame and Doug Doenges brought home an impressive third place finish. Capital tied for second in the team event, which was impressive since last year they didn’t not even have a player in the state tournament.
