Kimya Dawson, Chris Brokaw, & Jennifer O’Connor To Perform Free Concert In Olympia

Chris Brokaw, Jennifer O’Connor and Kimya Dawson perform a fine, free indie-rock concert for you at one of the Olympia Timberland Library’s after-hours events. The concert will be held on Tuesday, January 8 from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Chris Brokaw is the guitarist for Come and the drummer for Codeine. He has released seven solo albums of vocal and instrumental music and worked as an accompanist to Thurston Moore, Christina Rosenvinge and Evan Dando. Brokaw’s website is www.chrisbrokaw.com.

Jennifer O’Connor has toured the United States extensively, playing alongside bands such as Wilco, Cass McCombs, Silver Jews, the Mountain Goats, Damien Jurado, Feist, and Yo La Tengo. She and Brokaw will be doing a West Coast tour throughout January. O’Connor’s website is http://jenniferoconnor.net.

Kimya Dawson is a songwriter and performer residing in Olympia who has worked both solo and as a member of the Moldy Peaches and the Bundles. Dawson received a Grammy Award for her work on the soundtrack of the movie, “Juno,” and has released six solo albums, including a children’s album, “Alphabutt”. Her most recent album, “Thunder Thighs,” includes a tune about the Olympia Timberland Library called “The Library Song.”
