Go Get it Gal Founder, Taryn Kama, is one of a handful of women who will be honored at The University of Washington (UW) Women’s Center’s annual  “Women of Courage:Braving New Horizons” Gala event to be held Nov. 3 in Seattle.

The 2012 Gala will be at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel and will honor women in Washington State who have made lasting contributions to the communities they serve by creating innovative ways to approach and solve social and political issues. The UW Women’s Center recognizes women who set precedents for civic engagement by braving new horizons and inspiring others to follow.

Go Get it Gal, is an Olympia-based business, that provides women with resources, a supportive community, and outdoor opportunities in which they can challenge themselves and connect with other liked-minded people. The idea is that through these adventures and preparation, these experiences transform their lives. Go Get it Gal currently offers European cycling tours, learn to surf clinics, training rides and training plans.
Olympia resident, Taryn Kama, launched the company in Jan. 2012. Go Get it Gal held the first cycling tour in the Alps in Aug. 2012 and held numerous training rides.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized in this way and I am proud to represent Go Get it Gal and all women who dare to push themselves to the limits in the outdoors,” Kama said.
