Join the Masterworks Choral Ensemble (MCE) as it presents A Joyful Noise – a radiant musical celebration that transforms the chilly twilight of winter into the brilliant warmth of Christmas. Led by MCE Artistic Director/Conductor Gary Witley, A Joyful Noise is scheduled for 7:30pm on Saturday, December 1, at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Olympia.

Experience resounding harmonies as a chorus of voices fills the air with the joyous sounds of the holidays. Embracing both old and new, the performance will delight audience members of all ages. The program includes carols by the great masters such as Handel’s “The Messiah” and chorales from Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio”, as well as traditional Christmas carols we’ve cherished since childhood. Masterwork’s annual Holiday performance is a community celebration. Bring your friends and family and share in a tradition that adds joy and meaning to this wondrous season.

This year, MCE’s Holiday Silent Auction takes place against the backdrop of our Winter concert. One ticket allows you to attend both the concert and the auction so you’ll enjoy an evening of great holiday music and get a chance to bid on a wide variety of wonderful auction treasures! It’s a great opportunity to do some one-stop holiday shopping.

Doors open at 6:00pm for the Silent Auction. Arrive early and bid on fabulous items such as: restaurant gift certificates; tickets to theater performances, concerts and sporting events; specialty gift baskets; designer jewelry; original art; and one-of-a-kind experiences like an airplane flight over Puget Sound or a Ride-Along with the Police Chief! Auction proceeds benefit MCE, an Olympia-based non-profit, to help MCE fulfill its mission to present, perform and promote choral music in our community.

Audience members are invited to attend a pre-show “Concert Talk” at 7:00pm where they can gain insights about the music that will make the concert experience more meaningful.

Also tonight, MCE’s Spotlight on Community program is featuring Monarch Children’s Justice & Advocacy Center. This local non-profit organization will have a short presentation prior to the concert and have an information table in the lobby during the concert.
