September 27, 2012 – LACEY, WA – To coincide with the Military Family Support Day in Lacey, America’s Credit Union (ACU) donated $10,000 to the Hawks Prairie Rotary Soldier Fund. ACU has supported this event from its inception in 2003. The primary objective was to honor and help families left behind to deal with day-to-day stressors of military life, and create a resource to support the military and their families on many levels.

With ACU’s donation the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club has been able to support many community events and functions, along with meeting individual needs of soldiers’ families.

Over the last couple of years, the Rotary has used the funds to help bring much needed donations to JBLM’s Santa’s Castle, replace a broken water heater for a military family that was in crisis, and supply a crib filled with a year’s supply of diapers, food, and accessories for a soldier that was surprised with twins.

These are just a few of the ways ACU’s donations have been utilized by the Rotary. Each opportunity to give has left soldiers and their families both in awe and disbelief over the entire event.
