Johnathan Le accepts the Governor's Spirit of Youth scholarship in recognition of his achievements.

Governor Gregoire’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee (GJJAC) selected Johnathan Le as the 2012 Spirit of Youth Award scholarship recipient. Started in 2007, the scholarship recognizes a young adult who has overcome personal obstacles to serve his or her community.  The award focuses on the juvenile justice system’s rehabilitative capabilities and the power of personal achievement.

Governor Gregoire and Justice Bobbe Bridge (retired) presented the award at a ceremony held July 19, 2012.  Le was credited with turning his life around following a drug related arrest in 2006.  Since then, Le successfully completed his probation, enrolled at Shoreline Community College and graduated as a President’s Scholar, receiving an Associate of Arts business degree.  He will attend the University Of Washington Foster School of Business this fall.
