Olympia, WA – As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, Acting Forest Supervisor Amanda McAdams is inviting the public to get out and enjoy one of the many recreational opportunities that Olympic National Forest has to offer. “The forest has a number of inviting destinations for every individual or family to enjoy, ranging from picnic sites, to scenic hiking trails, to pristine wilderness areas,” she said. “Visiting any one of these would be a great way to kick off the summer season!”

Fire danger is always a concern. Fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices are prohibited year-round, regardless of weather conditions or holidays. Forest visitors are also reminded that no campfires should be left unattended; they should be extinguished and completely cold to the touch before leaving them.
