Pop The Cap Of Dick’s Brewing Company’s Golden Ale

It’s an American tradition to gather friends and pop open a beer on a warm summer day.  This summer, Dick’s Brewing Company is releasing their Golden Ale in bottles for the first time.  A crisp, refreshing light beer, Golden Ale is sure to become a fan favorite moving into the summer weather.

“Golden Ale is one of the very first beers that my dad created,” reports Dick’s Brewing Company owner Julie Young.   “He probably brewed the first recipe in 1994 or so.”  (To read more about the history of Dick’s Brewing Company, click here.)

The Golden Ale made its debut last year.  Sold only in kegs, the brew was a fast favorite.  This year, the beer has been bottled and is available in six packs wherever Dick’s Beer is sold.

“It’s a nice summer beer, light and not too hoppy,” describes Young.  “We like to joke that it’s a lawn mower beer,” she adds with a laugh.

“Golden Ale is refreshing and crisp – the perfect compliment to a BBQ,” adds Dave Pendleton, Dick’s Brewing Company’s Head Brewer.

Pendleton, who led a tour throughout the expansive brewing facility, reports that it’s a fairly easy recipe to brew.

A family-owned business, Dick’s Brewing Company is a craft, micro-brewery located in Centralia, Washington.

Dick’s Brewing Company brews over 20 varieties of tasty beer and highlights two seasonal beers each quarter.  For summer, the seasonal beers are Dick’s Hefeweizen and Dick’s Imperial IPA. Young reports that the Golden Ale will be bottled and sold year-round.

Whether you are looking for a crisp, easy drinking light beer to add to your cooler or simply enjoy supporting local, small businesses, grab a six-pack of Golden Ale on your next trip to the grocery store and delight your BBQ guests.  Cheers!

Tasting Room

Dick’s Brewing Company is open for happy hour every Friday plus the third Saturday from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.  The tasting room on Galvin Road in Centralia provides customers with a laid back, casual place to enjoy a delicious Dick’s beer.

“We pull out the picnic tables and make additional tables out of kegs,” comments Young.  “People come in after work, meet up with friends, and enjoy a couple of beers.”

The tasting room is a popular destination on Friday evenings.  “People walk in here expecting to see one person they know and end up knowing half of the customers in the place,” she continues.

Select from 12 Dick’s beers on tap and enjoy a snack from NW Sausage & Deli, also owned by Young.

Free tours begin around 4:00 pm, after the brewers have finished their tasks for the day.

Northwest Sausage and Deli

If you are not able to make it to a tasting room event, swing by the Northwest Sausage and Deli.  (The restaurant is affectionately just called ‘the Deli’ by Dick’s Brew Crew.)

“All the beer sold at the Deli is fresh from the brewery,” says Young.  In fact, during the interview, Pendleton had just returned from making a delivery to the Deli.

Enjoy one of 11 beers on tap.  A full selection of Dick’s beers is available for purchase to take home.

Families are welcome at the Deli.  Enjoy delicious food served throughout the day.  “We make everything by hand.  Pastrami and Rueben sandwiches are by far the most popular items on the menu,” explains Young.  Swing by on a Thursday or Friday to enjoy a prime rib dinner.

The Deli has continued Dick Young’s tradition of serving a variety of great meats.  The Deli features the finest sausages and other meat products, prepared using Dick’s original recipes.

Join the Dick’s Brew Crew at the Tasting Room or the Deli and sample fine, craft beers in a welcoming, casual setting.  To order a keg, call 360.736.7760.
