In 1971, Ed McCarroll opened one of the first Honda franchise dealerships in the US.  McCarroll and the Capitol City Honda franchise was recently recognized for over 40 years with Honda.

At age 86, McCarroll still holds an office at Capitol City Honda and receives weekly updates from his partners, husband and wife team, Chris and Kelly Levesque.  McCarroll’s career in the automotive industry has spanned over 50 years.

“My dad has spent his whole life in the car business.  He is a self-made entrepreneur,” says Kelly Levesque, who serves as the Dealer Principal.  Chris operates the dealership as the General Manager.

“Our dealership is family owned.  We live in the community.  We support other local, independent businesses when we make our buying decisions,” stresses Kelly.

Kelly has grown up in the business, working in the store during summer vacations from college.  After earning her Master in Business Administration from Seattle University, Kelly added a certification from the National Automotive Dealer Academy.

Chris’ career in the auto industry started after high school when he worked in a dealership in Seattle.  He gradually moved south before landing at Capitol City Honda about 17 years ago.

“My family has built our reputation in Thurston County.  We approach the business and make decisions based on continuing our positive reputation in the community,” explains Kelly.

Enter Capitol City Honda and you will be greeted by a professional, trained sales person. “Buying a car from a professional sales person is a different experience,” says Chris.  “Part of it is having quality people working for you and another part is ensuring they have the proper training and education to do their job,” he adds.  The sales team receives both ongoing factory and in-house training.

“We are not about a quick sell.  Instead, we build relationships with our customers to keep them coming back,” says Chris who emphasizes that he wants the car buying experience to be positive and hassle-free.

Customers are encouraged to browse, gather information, and compare findings while shopping in a comfortable environment.  The sales staff is available to answer questions without adding any pressure to close a sale.

With over 350 new and used cars to chose from, customers are sure to find a vehicle that meets their needs.  The team operates both the main dealership on Carriage Loop as well as a certified used car lot in the Olympia Auto Mall.

“What separates a Honda from other cars is it’s resale value,” remarks Kelly.  In April, Edmunds.com awarded Honda (and its other brand Acura) with its ‘best retained value’.  The company looks at the current selling price of new vehicles and projects how much the value will fall over time.  According to Edumunds.com, a Honda vehicle would retain 48% of its value after five years.

Capitol City Honda also promotes its financing options.  “We work really hard to get everyone financed,” emphasizes Chris.  Stop by in the Fall to see the redesigned 2013 Honda Accord.
