Port Welcomes New Finance Director

OLYMPIA – The Port of Olympia welcomes Jeffrey L. Smith, Certified Public Accountant, as its new finance director.

Smith brings the port an extensive financial background, including more than 20 years of maritime port experience. Most recently, he served as the chief financial officer at Smith Brothers Farms in Kent, Wash.
“We are very pleased to have Jeff on our management team,” said Ed Galligan, Executive Director. “His wealth of maritime financial experience is a great asset for our port.”

Smith previously worked as the senior director, finance and administration, at the Port of Tacoma, and was accounting manager at the Port of Vancouver, Wash. earlier in his career.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting/business administration from Washington State University.
