Leadership Thurston County Celebrates Community Leaders and Marks 20th Anniversary at Distinguished Leader Awards February 15, 2012

Leadership Thurston County (LTC) and the Thurston County Chamber Foundation are proud to announce this year’s Distinguished Leader Award honorees. The ROTARY CLUB OF OLYMPIA and MICHAEL CADE, Executive Director of the Thurston Economic Development Council, will be recognized at the annual leadership awards on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. This year’s event also salutes the 20th Anniversary of the founding of LEADERSHIP THURSTON COUNTY and honors LTC founders, graduates and community supporters.

 

Presented by WEST COAST BANK, the 11th annual award celebration will be held at Saint Martin’s University Norman Worthington Center. The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the awards program at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person or $500 for a table of eight. The Awards honor leaders who demonstrate outstanding initiative, inspire others and make a significant impact in our community and beyond. Honorees will be featured through live and multi-media presentations.

 

The Rotary Club of Olympia is being recognized for its collaborative leadership with the seven other Thurston County clubs in making a difference in our community and around the world. Joint efforts by the local clubs have developed Rotary Point at Olympia’s West Olympia Park and organized the annual Cool Jazz/Clean Water event, which raises funds for international clean water projects, musical instruments for local schools and youth leadership training.

 

Michael Cade is being recognized for his leadership in creating collaborative economic development opportunities in Thurston County. By convening diverse interests and building a strong team, Cade has led initiatives to recruit and retain local businesses, create jobs, and stimulate investment in community economic infrastructure.
