Thurston County Prosecutor Shares Ways Businesses Can Protect Themselves against Crime

Jon Tunheim, Thurston County’s newly elected Prosecuting Attorney, will present “Crimes Against Businesses & Prevention” at the Thurston County Chamber’s Forum on Wednesday, August 10. The program begins at 11:30am and includes lunch.

 

Tunheim, who has been with prosecutors office for 23 years, will cover economic crimes, fraud, forgery, embezzlement and shop lifting. According to the Federal Trade Commission

(FTC), Washington State is 7th per capita in the United States for victims of fraud.

 

Tunheim received his undergraduate degree in physics from South Dakota State University and his law degree from the University of Puget Sound School of Law. He has personally prosecuted cases involving charges ranging from drug possession to murder, specializing in the prosecution of sexual assault, domestic violence and crimes against children.

 

Forum is held at Saint Martin’s Norman Worthington Center from 11:30am to 1pm.  The cost is $30 general admission, $20 for members who reserve online and $25 for members at the door. Reservations are requested at 360.357.3362 or www.ThurstonChamber.com.
