Saturday June 18th and Father’s Day June 19th:
Start off Father’s Day weekend with the opening of the air show season at the Olympic Flight Museum (7637 Old Highway 99 SE Tumwater, WA 98501). This year’s take off is the 13th annual flight of its kind at the museum. There will be three hours of amazing aeronautic aerobatics featuring cutting edge performance jets as well as WWII, Korean, and Vietnam War era planes. There will also be amazing tactical displays from talented pilots from the US Air Force’s A-10 West Coast Demonstration Team! This show is a one of a kind in the Pacific NW, if you have never seen it, then don’t miss your chance!
The gates open at 9AM, and the Opening Ceremonies begin at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. Aerobatic performances begin after the Opening Ceremonies and will continue until about 4PM.

Saturday June 18th: Looking for a shot at some pre-Summer exercise? Join the Yelm Rotary Club at Yelm Middle School (10605 Carter Street Yelm, WA 98597) for the Yelm Prairie Stampede 5K Run/Walk. Tickets cost $20 if purchased online at www.yelmrotary.com or $25 if purchased in person. If you plan to register at the event, registration opens at 7:45AM and closes at 9AM. The run/walk starts at 9:30AM. All of the proceeds from this event will go towards funding local charities. Come out and join the fun, you could even win a prize!
Saturday June 18th: Start your weekend off with some great music with Lacey in Tune Summer Concerts In the Park. The first of the summer performances kicks off this Saturday at 7PM in Huntamer Park (618 Woodland Square Loop SE Lacey, WA 98503), with new bands performing every Saturday until August 13th. It is a great way to experience some great local favorites, and get acquainted with the Lacey music scene.

Saturday June 18th: The Alpine Experience store (408 Olympia Ave. NE Olympia, Wa 98501) in downtown Olympia is having their Go Outside and Play 2011 Kick Off BBQ this Saturday afternoon from 11AM to 1PM. There will be free food, fun games, contests, raffles, and local businesses demonstrating new products and services!
