Saturday May 7th:               Are you a gardener? Are you looking to kick start your green thumb this Spring? Left Foot Organics (11122 Case Road SW
Olympia, WA 98512), a local not for profit organization, will be having a plant sale this Saturday from 10AM-3PM. All of their plants are certified organic and include herbs, fruit and vegetable plants and more. All of the proceeds from the sale will go to help provide employment for rural youth, and the disabled, which is the mission behind their organization. Come out this weekend and get your garden started and support a good cause at the same time!

 

Saturday May 7th:               This Saturday is the Annual Lacey Alternative Energy Fair at Huntamer Park (618 Woodland Square Loop SE
Lacey, WA 98503)! It combines fun and entertainment with important information of eco-friendly energy sources, appliances, and building techniques. The event goes from 9AM-3PM and free to attend. There will be electric car races featuring racers built by local members of the community, including high school students, as well as a musical performance on steel drums by Ian Dobson and Recycalypso. Amid all of the fun activities there will be displays and booths featuring the latest in alternative energy technology for use in vehicles and our homes.

Saturday May 7th and Sunday May 8th:                         The Olympia Wooden Boat Association is proud to announce their 32nd Annual Olympia Wooden Boat Fair. The Olympia Wooden Boat Association (OWBA) promotes the rich history and tradition behind these boats in the South Puget Sound with the exchange of ideas about wooden boat construction, ownership and upkeep. During the Boat Fair, wooden boats of all conditions, ages, and sizes will be on display all over Percival Landing (Columbia Ave.
Olympia, WA 98501), both in the water and on land. In addition to admiring all of the historic vessels, take a walk through the International Food Alley, which will be featuring 18 different booths offering mouthwatering cuisine. This year’s Boat Fair food will include delicious offerings such as Polish sausage sandwiches, Thai and Asian food, clam chowder, wraps, Caribbean cuisine, seafood, nachos, and more!

Sunday May 8th:                  Speaking of boats, Public Day Sails will be open to participants of all ages for a fun boat ride aboard the Historic ship Adventuress. Casting off from Percival Landing (Columbia Ave.
Olympia, WA 98501), passengers are encouraged to join the crew in hoisting the sails, and join in shipboard classes where you can learn more about our unique marine environment. Weather providing, it could be a great way to spend the afternoon!
