Mother’s Day is this upcoming Sunday, what better way to show that you care than to take your Mom out for a upscale afternoon brunch? Below are some tried and true favorites in Olympia and the broader Thurston County area.

Anthony’s: (750 Columbia Street NW Olympia, WA 98501)

Located just feet from the Olympia waterfront, Anthony’s is an excellent choice for a delightful brunch. The restaurant specializes in local seafood, however if you and your mother are not big fans of having the flavors of the ocean in your breakfast, the brunch menu has equally delicious non-seafood options. San Juan Scramble: Eggs scrambled with rondele cheese and topped with chives, tomatoes, sour cream and cheddar cheese. Served over avocado slices.

Farmer’s Market Frittata: Italian style omelet with seared garden vegetables, fresh basil and sundried tomatoes topped with cheddar, Swiss rondele and Parmesan cheeses.

Dungeness Crab Cakes Benedict: A toasted english muffin topped with two of our award-winning Dungeness crab cakes, poached eggs, spinach and hollandaise. Served with Yukon Gold fisherman’s potatoes.

The Red Wind Casino: (12819 Yelm Hwy Olympia, WA 98153)

You do not have to be a gambling fan to enjoy a good meal in one of the Red Wind Casino’s restaurants. For Mother’s Day, the Red Wind will be having a nice champagne brunch for $18 per person (or $15 if you prefer your meal without champagne). A fine assortment of breakfast essentials will be made available buffet style such as waffles and omelets, and will include other fine additions such as carved prime rib and a seafood bar. The brunch session will last from 8AM-2PM, if a late lunch fits better into your schedule, you will be just in time to join their Blue Camas Sunday Buffet, (for $18 per person) which begins at 2PM and lasts throughout the rest of the evening until 10PM. The Blue Camas Buffet will include a variety of entrees and sides such as shrimp cocktails, carved roast beef, pasta, fresh salmon, and mashed potatoes in a pan roasted gravy. To finish your meal on a sweet note, there will also be a dessert bar and soft serve ice cream.

The Budd Bay Café: (525 Columbia Street NW Olympia, WA 98501)

Just down the waterfront from Anthony’s is the Budd Bay Café, one of the most highly acclaimed restaurants in the Nisqually area. For years, they have been providing patrons with top quality cuisine and excellent seafood. Their Sunday brunch (served from 9:30AM-1PM) continues to be a popular favorite with locals, and is a great place to take your mother for her holiday brunch. Their prices are quite affordable, and the meal choices are sure to suit every palette. Below are some of the signature meals from the Budd Bay Brunch Menu:

The Tumwater Valley Lodge: (4015 Tumwater Valley Drive SE Olympia, WA 98501)

Loki Loka, a locally run community organization will be putting on a fully catered Mother’s Day brunch at 11AM in the Tumwater Valley Lodge. The brunch will include quiche, crepes, fresh fruit and cocktails. In addition, there will be live music and a red rose for Mom. Admission to the event costs $49 per person, and $10 for children ages ten and younger. Professional photographers will also be present to take pictures for an additional cost.
