KGY AM 1240 Radio has added two new news staff to its news department and will soon be increasing its news coverage.

Joining news director Steve George will be Val Vaughn and Brittni Jean. These new hires will give the station an increased presence at local events and allow the station to provide more and deeper coverage of local activities.

In addition, the station has set up a 24-hour news tip line where people can call in suggestions for news coverage. The number, which will be monitored 24 hours a day, is 877-726-1240. Those with news tip can also send a text message to 657KGY1240.

The station has also agreed to expand Ken’s Corner. Now, on Tuesday at 2 pm, Ken will do an hour-long program interviewing news makers and community leaders. The first Ken’s Corner in the expanded form will be on April 19. His first guest will be George Le Masurier, publisher of “The Olympian”.
