O Bee Credit Union Opens Capture the Tag Contest. Enter for a Chance at $10,000!

In an effort to educate the masses about fraud, identity theft, and to provide valuable financial advice, O Bee Credit Union has created the “Capture the Flag Contest.” The contest recently opened this past Friday (January 21st) and doesn’t close until March 18th. Contestants that are eighteen years old and up, have a valid social security number, and own web-enabled smart-phones are eligible to participate.

The need for a web-enabled smartphone is crucial to the contest because the whole scavenger-hunt is based on installing an MS Tag-reading app onto your phone, and then using it to scan MS tags that will be put up in local businesses around the Thurston area. Once a tag is scanned, a video relating to either that specific business, or financial education, will begin to play. Within each video, there is also a clue to the location of the next tag to scan, so you will always know where to look next.

The object of the contest is to scan all of the tags (20 are business related, 10 are educational) so that your name will be entered in the prize drawing located at the Lucky Eagle Casino ballroom on March 18th. The grand prize is $10,000, second place is $3,000, third place is $2,000, and there are five fourth place prizes of an Apple iPad. Contestants must be present at the Grande Finale (7PM) to be eligible to receive their prize if they are drawn.

This contest is a great way to learn more about financial management and our local businesses, as you go about your day.
