Thurston County is a great place to live with a young family. You would think that living in such a rainy climate could become monotonous for the kids, but not so when there are great rainy day activities surrounding you.

Hands On Children’s Museum is true to their slogan “where fun and learning go hand in hand.” Located conveniently in the heart of Olympia, they provide hours of imaginative play for your kids from learning about foods that are good for you and grocery shopping with real cash registers to making art projects or building forts. They even have a “TotSpot” where shoes are off and crawlers and toddlers alike can enjoy playing.

Membership ranges from $65-$135 However they are currently running a special through December 24th: if you buy or renew a membership, you get a free membership of equal or lesser value to give away. What a great gift! This will surely be a hit the whole year through.

Their hours are 10am-5pm M-S and 12-5pm on Sunday.  They will be closed on Christmas Day, but open on New Year’s Day.

To purchase a membership, you can go online: https://www.hocm.org/membership.php or call 360-956-0818.

The museum is located in downtown Olympia:
