Intercity Transit accommodates Greyhound

November 17th, 2010 by Ken

Intercity Transit, flush with cash from a taxpayer approved sales tax increase, has plans to expand the Olympia Transit Center to the tune of around $5 million.

The Olympia center will be expanded  by 5000 feet and add administrative space on the second  floor and third floor mezzanine.

Four new platforms will be constructed to accommodate  Greyhound buses and other regional buses.    Intercity transit employees will serve as joint ticket takers and customer service information.  Additional baggage and small package handling areas will be built, which could convert to storage spaces if Greyhound eventually leaves.

Final plans and final designs will be determined shortly.
