2011 Advisory Committee Applications

The Olympia City Council is accepting applications for 2011 appointments to the city’s volunteer advisory committees and boards. Application deadline is Friday, December 3, 2010, 5:00 p.m.

The groups are:

• Arts Commission
• Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
• Design Review Board
• Heritage Commission
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee
• Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
• Planning Commission
• Utility Advisory Committee

The City Council is not expecting any openings in 2011 on the Planning Commission, but will accept applications to keep on file in case of a resignation. There is one current opening on the Utility Advisory Committee that the City Council would like to fill before the end of the year. Appointments for other committees will occur in early 2011.

Each committee develops an annual work plan of policy and volunteer activities that is reviewed and approved by the City Council. At least 50% of the members on each committee must be City of Olympia residents.
